Thailand’s FastPass Program Expands to 42 Projects泰國 FastPass 擴至 42 項目
Thailand’s Board of Investment (“BOI”) is taking new steps to attract more high-value foreign investment. During a recent board meeting chaired by Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, the BOI added 17 new major projects worth over THB 121 billion into its key "Thailand FastPass" program.[1]

This brings the total under the FastPass program to 42 projects from 38 companies, exceeding THB 344 billion in investment, with the potential to create over 27,000 local jobs. The targeted industry groups are:

Ø Electronics & Electrical Appliances: 10 projects worth over THB 83.9 billion

Thailand’s FastPass program aims to speed up permits and licenses by setting up clear deadlines for government agencies to process applications. All 25 initial FastPass projects have received BOI approval, with actual investments already exceeding THB 21 billion.
Thailand FastPass 計畫的目的，是透過為政府機關設定明確的申請處理期限，加快企業取得各項許可及執照的速度。最初納入 FastPass 計畫的 25 個項目均已取得 BOI 投資促進核准，實際投資金額也已超過 210 億泰銖。
Beyond speeding up approvals, foreign investors must pay attention to two key regulatory trends:

Value-creation incentives: The BOI is restructuring its investment strategy to raise investment's share of national GDP from 20% to over 30%. Future incentives will be based on real value creation, technology transfer, and stronger local supply chains, with progress monitored through a new inter-agency “Joint KPI” framework.

The BOI recently demonstrated its strict stance on compliance by restoring investment privileges to a steel manufacturer retroactively only after the company had fully rectified its operations and obtained safety clearances. The company's benefits had previously been suspended for violating factory and industrial product standards.
